From Hong Kong to Canada: A New Chapter
Before moving to Canada, I lived in Hong Kong as a full-time mom. I settled in Canada in August 2023, beginning a new chapter filled with adjustment, reflection, and new possibilities. Leaving behind a familiar life allowed me to rediscover myself in a new environment and opened the door to creative and personal growth.
Discovering Zentangle Through Church Community
At the end of 2023, I was introduced to Zentangle art through a Christian church community. During this season of transition, Zentangle became a source of calm and focus for me. The simple lines and mindful process helped me slow down, reflect, and reconnect with creativity in a peaceful and meaningful way.
Beginning My Zentangle Journey
I officially began learning Zentangle in May 2024, dedicating time to practicing patterns and understanding the philosophy behind this meditative art form. Zentangle taught me that art does not require perfection—only presence and intention. What began as a personal practice gradually grew into a passion I wanted to share with others.
Sharing Zentangle with Others
In September 2024, I began teaching Zentangle, guiding others through this mindful and creative process. Teaching allowed me to connect with people from different backgrounds and witness how Zentangle builds confidence, relaxation, and joy through simple, intentional strokes.
A Full-Circle Moment at the Christmas Market
In March 2025, I successfully completed the Certified Zentangle Teacher (CZT) training. Drawing Zentangle patterns on tote bags for the first time at the Christmas Market at CCM Vancouver Center felt like a beautiful full-circle moment—bringing together my journey of learning, teaching, and sharing art within the community.
A Proud Milestone for Our Team
This Christmas Market marked our first-ever market appearance, making it a very special milestone for our team. We were honoured to showcase our handmade creations at the CCM Vancouver Center, where I also had the opportunity to draw Zentangle patterns live for visitors. Being able to create art on the spot, interact with guests, and share the Zentangle process in real time made the experience especially meaningful. The event was dedicated to supporting small businesses created by special-needs youth, a mission that is deeply personal to me. Throughout the day, we connected with supportive families and community members, and we were grateful to see our mini tote bags, Zentangle hats, and notebooks find new homes. Every interaction and purchase represented encouragement and belief in our vision, inspiring us to continue creating with purpose, inclusion, and heart.
